Worn Beauty?

A Woman of fine beauty rejoices.
Glory, honor, and praise are her choices.
God has clothed her in white purity
And virtue with meekness and dignity.
Bright shining jewels are righteously adorned,
And sincere are her words, rightfully formed.
She springs forth as a bud fully in bloom,
For she has planned ahead for the bridegroom.

A woman full of self has no beauty.
Only of her desires, she pays duty.
She dishonors her jewels upon her neck.
Torn, worn and dirty her garments reflect.
Angry words are strong and harsh that she speaks.
Foolishly her own gain is all she seeks.
Lingering smells of death, darkness and gloom,
Branded so unworthy for the bridegroom.

Prayer:
"Heavenly Father, forgive us when we have not walked in Your ways.   Remove from us our selfishness and set our priorities in order.  Keep us holy and fit for your return. Give us Your joy in the midst of difficult times. Help us to keep our garments cleaned and not dirty from being in worldly desires. Lord, if we could just focus on the groom, and not be consumed with other things that the evil one of this world allures us to.  May we set our face and our desires of our hearts to serve You with our whole being as we wait expectantly for that glorious wedding day.
Amen, and in the name of Jesus, Amen."
