Joy Sapping Worries

Joy sapping worries...

Too many snow flurries.

Scared of finishing last,

Or being the town's outcast.

Going totally broke,

Keeping up with city folk.

Joy sapping worries are no joke.

Joy sapping worries...

Having to rise so early.

Being the new kid on the block.

Ticking sounds of the clock,

Lay offs at work

And putting up with jerks.

Joy sapping worries...

Horn blowers in a hurry,

Illnesses of this earthly life,

Wars, terrorism and strife.

Fear of failure and rejection,

the IRS collection.

Joy sapping worries, there's no affection.

Joy sapping worries...

boys being too girly.

Insecurity, doubts and fears.

No one listens, non one hears,

There's no love any more

And too many chores.

Joy sapping worries, no one adores.

Joy sapping worries...

My eyes going blurry.

Scared of the swine flu,

Economy fare ups and calamity too.

Threats and global warming,

Heart attacks so alarming.

Joy sapping worries...

Bad hair day, its too curly,

someone is dying

and everyone is crying.

Plans are all gone.

Joy sapping worries, leave me alone!

Get rid of worries and sorrow of heart. (Ecclesiastes 11:10) Rejoice and let your heart be filled with joy, the jumping up kind of joy.  Joy that brings rejoicing, praise and dancing of the heart. God looks upon the heart, not the appearance of the outside, so get rid of all that stuff that leaves you carrying around so much "heart hurt" and sorrow that it is going to burst!

Prayer: God, keep us with a rejoicing heart, and take away evil from us.  Be our strength and help us let go of all sorrows and burdens of our hearts.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
