An Open Book

You are an open book.

God watches, sees and looks.

Maybe you're a closed book,

Sitting high on a nook.

Look inside for yourself.

Why you've been on the shelf.

Are your words crooked, blurred

And often they are slurred?

Have you any substance at all?

Are you empty and raw?

Have you been picked and read

Or, dusty, left as dead?

Are People reading you?

Are your lines straight and true?

Is reading your words good,

easily understood?

Do you hear people say,

Put that one far away?”

Don't bother reading it,

Because it is not fit.

Does your written pages

Point to God in stages?

It should be well written,

Easy read, not hidden.

Available at all times.

Co-authored and not mine.

We are to make God shine,

with every written line.

To write a better book;

People do watch and look.

PRAYER

Oh God, this so scary! To think I'm being looked at,

read page by page, maybe even discarded 

or not even picked up and read.

Help me to write a better book, 

and may my heart contain a great story

for You Glory!
