Humbly Grateful or Grumbly Hateful

Humbly Grateful or Grumbly Hateful

Words of grumble and complain
It's been happening since Abel and Cain.
“Isn't my offering good enough?
It's just as good as Abel's stuff!”

“Our work is too hard,” the Israelites said,
“I'd much rather be already dead.
Oh Moses, why did you bring us here?
We're going to die of hunger, we fear!
What's this here on the ground?
You call this food we have found?”

“It's far too much to keep these rules.
I'll do as I please and keep a few.
Why am I in such a mess?
God won't listen and doesn't bless.
He's forgotten about me is my guess.”

Ever thought about where you are?
Do you grumble with hate and God's name mar?
No words of gratefulness.
Just words of hatefulness.
You are angry and bitter.
You have never considered.
Being grateful and kind
Never crossed your mind?

God heard your pleas and cries.
And, with provisions and blessings, was His reply.
Hateful grumbler you have remained.
Even when there is so much to gain.
Being humbly grateful in spite of pain.
It is not what you receive,
It's your attitude and how you believe.

God is good and knows His plans.
Be grateful even if you don't understand.
His ways are perfect and the best.
Be grateful and with your mouth confess.
How gracious and right God is.
Especially if you are a child of His.
In His word is says, “Count it all joy!”
Humbly grateful or grumbly hateful,
Which one do you employ?
